History and Mission
In 2009, members of the Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® created the 1926 Foundation, Inc. as a separate non-profit entity.

In accordance and alignment with the "Guidelines for Foundations and Chapters" at the Corporate Office of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®, The 1926 Foundation became incorporated in 2011.
​
We are a stand-alone 501c-3 corporation who seeks to benefit members of the greater Philadelphia community through educational services to youth.
​
We also partner with other community organizations based in the Philadelphia area whose initiatives align with our mission.
​
The Board of Directors will promote and provide charitable, community and educational services that furthers the mission of the Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®.

What are the purposes of The 1926 Foundation, Inc.
The purposes of The 1926 Foundation, Incorporated are to:

Support charitable and educational activities useful to the individual and beneficial to the community within the meaning of Section 501 (c) (3) of the Code.

Receive contributions and pay them over to organizations that are described in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Code.

Support and partner with the Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®.
